Jim Lyle has been a huge part of the Detroit Bikram family from the very start. Over the years Jim has bonded and formed life long friendships with many of students and teachers too. He's even known to draw a crowd after class in Farmington Hills to chat over coffee.

 

That's just how Jim is... friendly and positive, it's no wonder Jim seems to always have good fortune around him! His positive outlook on everything, including Bikram Yoga has made him a very special Student of the Month.

 

If you've just started practicing with us in Farmington Hills, you will soon meet Jim. If not in the studio while warming up, then in the lobby as he'll always smile and say 'Hello'.  

 

"...It is not only the physical benefits that have made me want to continue yoga; it is the people that share the (for lack of better words) 'yoga experience' with me that make it so rewarding. This yoga community seems to be made up of warm people who genuinely care about each others well being. It is to be in their presence that keeps me coming back..."

What is Pranayama Deep Breathing?

"Welcome to Bikram's Beginning Yoga class! Please stand with your toes and heels together for Pranayama Deep Breathing, it's good for your lungs and respiratory system..."

   

Sound familiar?    

If you are semi-alert at the start of class, it should sound familiar!

   

Every class begins with Pranayama Deep Breathing.

   

As a beginner, its common that people feel awkward with this breathing exercise. There are several things happening at once that require coordination... breathing in slowly by the nose, then breathing out slowly by the mouth, all with a synchronized arm and head movement, and all while thinking 'OMG... why is it so hot in here, what did I get myself into?'.

Happy 5 Years... Farmington Hills

April 1st, 2012 was the 5 year anniversary at our Farmington Hills studio!

This April we will celebrate our 5 years with a special Raffle... for every class you attend in Farmington Hills this month, you can enter your name into the Raffle at the front desk.

At the end of the month we will draw 30 names, one prize for every day of the month. There are great prizes!

1st Prize: One year of unlimited yoga
2nd Prize: Six months of unlimited yoga
3rd Prize: Three months of unlimited yoga
4th... 30th Prize: Yoga clothing, mats, accessories, etc
