MAY Student of the Month
|
As Mother's Day approaches, we thought what better way to kick it off than to have a mother/daughter duo featured as our May Students of the Month! Mary & Angela stand out at Detroit Bikram because these two are a team! Rarely will you see one without the other. Mary (the mom) usually shows up first and Angela (the daughter) is not far behind. You can see these two practicing side-by-side and motivating one another at almost every early morning Bikram Yoga class. Not too long ago, their stress levels rose and their health declined; these two entrepreneurs decided not let these negative issues go on any longer. They came to Detroit Bikram (Farmington Hills studio) and started on a path to a new healthy lifestyle, both mentally and physically. We're sure their story will inspire all mothers and daughters out there to come to a Bikram Yoga class and get healthy together! To all the mothers and daughters out there, this one's for you! Bikram "Quote of the Month"

"Better to suffer for 90 minutes, than 90 years!"
What does this mean? Do we really suffer during a Bikram Yoga class? Sometimes it feels like we do, and there could be many reasons for it. But there is some good news! As your regular practice develops, you will feel better and better outside of class in your daily life.
Bikram Yoga is designed to challenge you in many ways, regardless of your age, background, or level of experience with yoga. If you struggle during class, remember to be very patient with yourself. This practice is not something you can master in a few weeks, months, or years. It is a lifelong practice. Each little break-though you experience in your regular practice will bring more enjoyment and health into your life.
Come to class at least three times a week. Take good care of yourself outside of class (hydration, nutrition, and rest). Follow this advice and you will feel better and better in the hot room, until one day this quote will make you smile instead of grumble!
