New Students
| Many of you are new to Bikram Yoga FH this month. We want to welcome you to our studio, to our yoga family, and to this intense and amazing yoga practice that has the power to heal and transform the body from the inside out!
If you felt overwhelmed in your first few classes, just know that is a normal experience and it is part of the process. Keep coming to class, and it will get better and better.
It is very important to be patient with yourself. Don't worry if you are not flexible, or can't balance, or can't hold the postures the whole time. It doesn't matter! Just setup the alignment of the postures to the best of your ability, and know that the flexibility, strength, and balance will improve over time.
Some classes you will be full of energy, other days you may have to sit down, that is ok! Remember to drink lots of fresh clean water throughout the day, so you are as hydrated as possible when you attend class. Proper hydration is absolutely essential in order to really enjoy and thrive in this yoga practice.
We want to support you however we can! Email Jenny and Ian here anytime with questions, concerns, or comments about your practice. Always feel free to talk to the teachers after class!

Special Lecture - Dr. John Hagelin
| Bikram Yoga Farmington Hills is proud to sponsor an afternoon talk by Dr. John Hagelin at the Troy Community Center, Saturday October 23rd from 2pm to 4pm.
This will be a fascinating presentation on the latest breakthroughs in physics, neuroscience, and consciousness! Many of you have heard of Dr. Hagelin because he was featured in the movies "What The Bleep Do We Know" and "The Secret".
Dr. John Hagelin Dr. Hagelin received his A.B. summa cum laude from Dartmouth College (1975) and his M.A. and Ph.D. from Harvard University (1976 and 1981). He conducted pioneering research at CERN (the European Center for Particle Physics) and SLAC (the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center). His scientific contributions in the fields of electroweak unification, grand unification, supersymmetry and cosmology include some of the most cited references in the physical sciences. He is also responsible for the development of a highly successful Grand Unified Field Theory based on the Superstring. In recognition of his outstanding achievements, Dr. Hagelin was named winner of the prestigious Kilby Award, which recognizes scientists who have made "major contributions to society through their applied research in the fields of science and technology." The award recognized Dr. Hagelin as "a scientist in the tradition of Einstein, Jeans, Bohr, and Eddington."
Dr. Hagelin unites cutting-edge discoveries in quantum physics and neuroscience to forge a new understanding of consciousness and the physical universe-mind and matter-revealing a startling connection between our inner and outer realities. This emerging paradigm provides a true "theory of everything" in which the individual is truly cosmic.
If you want to attend, space is limited and RSVP is required. Email us here to RSVP. There is no cost to attend the 2pm presentation with Dr. Hagelin, however, donations are welcome if you feel inclined.
