Making Paper Bead Jewelry

July 7, 2012  2pm-4pm

Pioneer Woman Museum

Ponca City, OK

The pioneers who settled this country were green before green was cool, repurposing and upcycling before these modern day terms became a part of our daily vocabulary. It was just sensible living. Why throw something away before it has seen its full potential - especially when you can take something as ordinary as paper and easily upcycle it into something as wonderful as jewelry? On Saturday, July 7th, Melinda Pease will be at the Pioneer Woman Museum to share the art of making paper bead jewelry which she learned when looking for a way to upcycle old magazines instead of throwing them away.

The class is from 2pm to 4pm.  Participants will make a completed paper bead necklace or bracelet. Thist is an inexpensive and easy craft. Melinda will bring some of her more complicated pieces to illustrate different beads and techniques.

The class is open to age 10 and up and costs $5. All supplies will be provided. Please call the Pioneer Woman Museum to register now at (580)765-6108.
