Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center is Finalist for Oklahoma Nonprofit Excellence Awards
Enid, OK
The Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center has been selected as a finalist for the Oklahoma Nonprofit Excellence (ONE) Awards in the Arts & Humanities category.
The fifth annual ONE Awards, sponsored by the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits, will take place at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa on April 14, 2012.
"Chosen as a Finalist for the 2012 ONE Awards represents a well-earned pat-on-the-back for a job well-done for the Heritage Center staff, volunteers, and contributor whose hard work and dedication have made the Center an integral part of the fabric of our Northwest Oklahoma community," said Dr. David Russell, Chairman of the Board.
The Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center, Inc. is a nonprofit organization created through a partnership of community organizations and the Oklahoma Historical Society to transform a small museum in Enid into the first regional heritage center in the state. It features five state-of-the-art exhibit galleries, a temporary exhibit gallery, a living history village, engaging programs and special events and a Smithsonian-quality experience for visitors.
