 Oklahoma @ the Movies Exhibit

This week the Oklahoma History Center launched a website to encourage Oklahomans to be part of a new major exhibit titled Oklahoma @ The Movies which will open in May 2012.  The site allows users to share their experiences and memories of their local movie theater.  The website includes a database of Oklahoma theaters along with information and photographs.  The museum is asking visitors to not only share stories, but items or photographs relating to the industry.  Find out more at www.okhistory.org/movies.

Oklahoma City, OK

by Robbin Davis, Director of Visitor Services

We are proud to carry Made in Oklahoma merchandise in the Oklahoma Museum of History Museum Store.  A recent addition to our Made in Oklahoma product line is cedar furniture made by the Oklahoma company, Singing Wire Cedar.  Located in Beggs, Oklahoma, Singing Wire Cedar uses only Oklahoma cedar and mills and manufactures the pieces in Oklahoma  We currently have in stock two cedar chests, two smaller heirloom style chests and two cedar benches. Made in Oklahoma Cedar Furniture

Each item is made in a way that highlights the natural beauty of the cedar wood which has natural variations in color from a light tan to a dark brown with shades of red.  These pieces are treated with a clear varnish to protect the wood and to highlight the natural colors and protect them from fading.  The inside of the chests are not treated and each has the natural protective properties of cedar wood for your important keepsakes.

The large cedar chest is 42" long, 18" high and 18" wide, and is priced at $339.95.  The cedar bench is 42" long and 18" high, and is priced at $339.95.  The smaller heirloom chest is 19.5" long, 9" high, and 11.5" wide, and is priced at $149.95.

Stop by and visit us for these and many other unique, Oklahoma related gift items.  We now have gift wrap available!  Please contact us at (405)522-5214 with any questions about these or any other of our great products.
