Genealogical Resources

The Research Center offers free in-library access to Ancestry Library Edition and HeritageQuest and Footnote.com. These sites allow visiting researchers to search, view and print various genealogical records, documents and images. Ancestry Library offers US Census, ship logs and passenger indexes, WWI draft registration cards, vital records, and the Social Security Death Index. HeritageQuest also includes US Census as well as Revolutionary War pension & bounty-land warrant applications; the Freedman's Bank (1956-1874); and PERSI (Periodical Source Index), an index of almost 2 million genealogical and local history articles. Footnote.com includes documents relating to the Revolutionary War, Civil War, WWI, WWII, US Presidents, American Indian records, historical newspapers, naturalization documents and more.
The Research Center also offers other extensive genealogical research resources in-library, as well as a wealth of information that can be found through our Online Research Catalog. If you are interested in researching your American Indian Ancestry, be sure to use our searchable online listing of the Dawes Final Rolls of the Five Civilized Tribes.
Research Center hours:
Monday-Saturday 10am - 4:45pm
First Monday of the month 10am to 7:45pm
Days Closed: Sundays and all state holidays

Rug Hooking Workshop
September 17, 12pm-5pm
George M. Murrell Home
Park Hill, OK
Gina Levesque will teach a workshop on how to make a hooked rug. Attendees will make a small 10"x10" project during the class.
No previous experience is necessary. Cost is $45 per person and includes a kit with a pattern on backing, pre-cut wool noodles, written instructions and a rug hook. Participants need to bring a pair of scissors and a 14" embroidery hoop. If you don't have an embroidery hoop, non-slip hoops will be available for purchase at an additional cost of $17.
