Preservation Oklahoma, Inc. and the Oklahoma State Historic Preservation Office, Oklahoma Historical Society, will host two workshops entitled Making theRoute 66 Sign Most of the Mother Road: How to Care for (and Benefit from) Your Route 66 Resources.

Route 66 is a national treasure and an important asset to the many communities it touches across the state.  The workshops will focus on tools and resources for the preservation, revitalization, and promotion of Route 66 resources and communities.  Many useful programs specifically focus on the preservation of the Rt. 66 Round Barncharacter of this historic road across the country, and this workshop will help communities and individuals tap into those programs.  It will also introduce other non-Route 66 specific resources for individual property owners, groups, and communities to utilize as they care for their historic places.

The workshops will be held November 6 in Clinton and May 14 in Chandler.  The Clinton workshop will be at the Frisco Center at 101 S. 4th Street, Clinton, OK 73601, and the Chandler workshop will be at the Route 66 Interpretive Center at 400 E.
