Oklahoma History Center Museum Education
partners with Inasmuch Foundation
One of the greatest joys of a museum educator is a building filled with students and we are pleased to tell you that during Fiscal Year 2010 (July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2010) educators from the Oklahoma Museum Division had direct contact with 54,262 students and adults. These individuals participated in a number of programs, including tours, classroom programs, and special events. The map below shows the counties impacted by these educational efforts. A grant from the Inasmuch Foundation for $13, 284 made it possible for 6,642 students and teachers to visit the history center in organized groups. For Fiscal Year 2011, the Inasmuch Foundation has made a donation in the amount of $35,000, which should make possible visitation by 17,500 students and teachers. The grant money is available on a first come basis. These tours, presentations, and events make major impressions on students. One seventh-grade teacher from Seminole reported that her students only had one complaint. "They did not have enough time!"
