Naming Opportunities at the Oklahoma History Center
by Paul F. Lambert, Development Director

A number of outstanding companies, foundations, and individuals have made contributions to the Oklahoma Historical Society for which their names were placed on various facilities at the Oklahoma History Center.  Dr. Nazih and Annette Zuhdi were the most recent to be honored in this manner.  Among the others are ONEOK, Inc., The Helmerich Foundation, The Inasmuch Foundation, The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation, Kerr-McGee Corporation, Edward L. and Thelma Gaylord, OGE Energy Corp., The Meinders Foundation, Devon Energy Corporation, David and Rhonda Walters, the Vose Family, the West Family, LeRoy H. Fischer, and John and Eleanor Kirkpatrick.

Naming opportunities remain at the History Center, beginning with sponsorship or memorial plaques along the Red River Walk to the magnificent Mezzanine or Atrium Landing on the third floor.  There are many other possibilities between those two extremes.  Two of them are Legacy Limestone Pavers in the Foyer and OHS Museum Division Education Trunks on various topics.

In future articles, we will point out naming/sponsorship possibilities at some of our sites and museums statewide.

If you are interested in a naming opportunity, please contact Paul Lambert at

Meanwhile, on behalf of the officers, directors, and staff of the OHS, thanks so much to all of our donors.  Donations and memberships, large and small, are essential to our continued excellence and progress in collecting, preserving, and sharing Oklahoma's History.

If you weren't able to make it to the grand opening of this fantastic exhibit, you can watch this short video to share the experience!

This is a really fun and interactive exhibit that offers insight into what it takes to create these works of art, whether it is writing, drawing, inking or editing.  The exhibit, also, has a vast array of Dick Tracy memorabilia and it illustrates how influential Oklahomans have contributed to these uniquely American art forms.

Create your own family adventure and visit this, along with the other exhibits, at the Oklahoma History Center today.  Remember, members always have free admission.
