Though we have great events coming up like the Argyle Wine Dinner and Premiere Bakersfield, I assure you we have not forgotten about bringing you great new releases to keep your shelves stocked at home. This edition is chock-full of new, amazing products!

   First up are a few new wine releases that I am very excited about; one is from an old friend and one is from a new winemaking rock star.

   The "old friend" refers to Robert Craig out of Napa Valley, and who has just released his 2009 Howell Moutain Cabernet. This wine is loaded with bold, black fruit flavors, with layers of roasted coffee beans and graphite. What makes this bottle truly remarkable is that it shows perfect balance right upon release. That isn't to say that it won't do well with a few years of age on it though. You would think that Wine Advocate scoring this wine 96/100 would be the most impressive fact about this wine, but you'd be wrong. Even more impressive, Imbibe Wine & Spirits is the only retailer from Los Angeles to San Francisco to get this wine. Extremely limited -  $79.99/bottle. In addition to his Howell Mountain property, we've also received 2009 Mount Veeder Cabernet, always one of my favorite Cabernets coming out of Napa Valley. While this bottling offers intense, dark red fruit, it is balanced by hints of tar, licorice, menthol and ends with a smoky finish. This wine received an equally impressive 96/100 from Wine Advocate, and, with the Howell Mountain bottling, makes for a pair of great wines to own.
