This week I am thrilled to announce two of the most outstanding presales that we have seen all year.

INSIGNIA PRE-SALE

   To start off, we are offering the 2009 Joseph Phelps Insignia for only $174 per bottle. Normal price on this wine is $199 each. For reference, the Insignia has scored over 90+ points for twenty consecutive vintages. This bottling received a score of 93-96/100 by the Wine Advocate. Antonio Galloni said of this wine, "The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Insignia is a big, generous wine that covers the palate with waves of dark red fruit. Today it is beautifully expressive and opulent yet also well balanced. An explosive finish rounds things out in style. This looks to be a relatively approachable Insignia. Floral, spicy notes round out the finish."

OPUS ONE PRE-SALE

   Next up, to mark the 30th Anniversary of this Californian benchmark wine, we are having a presale for the 2009 Opus One Red Wine for an unbelievable $193 per bottle. This  normally sells for $225 each. Made from a blend of the five noble grapes of Bordeaux, Opus One is a collaborative effort between Robert Mondavi and the Baron Philippe de Rothschild, and is one of the most notable wines of the United States. According to Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Review, this wine displays "wild, flamboyantly expressive aromas of black raspberry, crystallized blackberry, smoke, leather, licorice, bitter chocolate and cedar, lifted by violet and spices. Smooth, mouth-filling and decidedly dry, with a lightly dusty character to its flavors of dark fruits, minerals and game. The broad, very long finish features building tannins."
