Since it has been a while since our last Spirits Newsletter, we thought it high time to let you know about a few products that just came in. These are items we're especially excited about and, with the summer's heat upon us, are perfect for warm weather cocktails.
First up are the JLP Tequilas. We had an opportunity to taste these a couple of weeks ago and we were very surprised to find them some of the most delicious tequilas that we've seen in a while, but ones that are amazing values. Produced at the same distillery as the $100 Clase Azul Tequilas and the Avion Tequilas of Entourage fame, the JLP Tequilas have got a new recipe, an amazing looking bottle and have become benchmarks in Tequila for us at Imbibe. With prices, this amazing, you can afford to have a house Tequila!
 JLP Tequila Blanco (750ml) - $24.99 JLP® Blanco is double distilled and bottled straight from the still to capture its unique character and flavors. Notes of sweet agave, exotic fruit and fresh citrus make it the perfect compliment to classic margaritas and other refreshing cocktails.
 JLP Tequila Reposado (750ml) - $27.99 JLP® Reposado is rested in white American oak barrels for 6 months. Rich flavors of agave nectar, caramel and vanilla abound in this bottle and make for a nice sipper or a great whiskey substitute in mixed drinks.
 JLP Tequila Anejo (750ml) - $29.99 JLP® Anejo is hand made and has been rested in American oak barrels for 12 months. Loaded with pleasant characteristics of chocolate, toasted nuts and subtle cherry and citrus. Perfect for sipping!
The FAIR Spirits line-up is another brand of spirits that caught our eye in the last month and are must-haves for those that love the best quality and most unique ingredients. Made entirely from Fair Trade ingredients that are purchased from communities of small independent farmers who transmit their land from generation to generation. Each farmer owns an average 1 hectare of land. Their crops are gathered within the cooperative and they are guaranteed a fair price for their work.
 FAIR Vodka (750ml) - $36.99 The FAIR Vodka is the first and only vodka made from the super grain, Quinoa, one of the oldest and heartiest grains in the world. That plus a special production process, the result of a two-year joint research project between French distillers and Bolivian farmers, make for an incredibly smooth drink with more complexity than your average bottle of vodka. In fact, this bottle has such unique properties that it can be used in place of gin, clear whiskey or rum, or just about any other clear spirit you normally use. This one has to be tasted to be believed.
 FAIR Goji Liqueur (375ml) - $22.99 The FAIR Goji Liqueur is quite possibly on of the most interesting liqueurs that we have seen come to market. Made from the super fruit, the Goji berry, long recognized as being one of the most nutritious fruits on earth. This fruit is highly prized in Tibet where monks have harvested goji for centuries. Modern research has found goji berries to be rich in antioxidants. The goji berry juice is a key factor in the unique flavor profile of this product. Perfect as a mixer, in sparkling wines, or as a topping on dessert.
 FAIR Cafe Liqueur (375ml) - $20.99 Over the years, there have many coffee liqueurs to hit the market, but with so many tasting saccharin and fake, the FAIR Cafe Liqueur is a refreshing alternative. The great taste comes from slow roasting the very best organically grown, Fair Trade Certified Arabica coffee beans to extract the fine, authentic properties of the coffee. The freshly ground beans are then infused directly into the liqueur base to create a rich-flavored coffee based spirit.
