Imbibe Header

JoshHello to all those who Imbibe,

With All Hallow's Eve quickly approaching, I thought I'd make a few recommendations to help stock the shelves for the weekend and parties to come.  We've gathered here a collection of some items that are so delicious it's scary.  As an added bonus they all look creepy enough to match with any decorating you've already done.

Being a wine shop, it would be a shame not to mention some great new bottlings, and this week we have the wines of Via Vega.  The first of which is the 2006 Via Vega Los Amigos Red Wine.  A unique take on a classic Bordeaux blend, predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon with a few Rhone varietals thrown in to mix things up a bit.  With rich red and black fruit tones supported by waves of caramel and spice, this wine is full on flavor and a smooth, easy drink.  A steal at $15.99 a bottle.  The second wine is their 2008 Via Vega Red Wine.  This is almost entirely Syrah with about 15% Zinfandel to finish the blend.  With bright, fresh blackberry and black raspberry flavors up front, this one rounds out with a pleasant baking and black pepper spice.  $16.99 a bottle.

Now for those that are looking for amazing spirits (no pun intended), look no further.  For the tequila-lovers, check out the Kah Tequilas.  Inspired by traditional Calaveras (skulls made from sugar) which are used in Day of the Dead rituals.  Three varieties available: Blanco ($57.99), Reposado ($66.99) and Anejo ($74.99).  All very tasty within their own right.  The Blanco shows fresh, bright notes of cooked agave, white pepper and spice, while the Repo and Anejo lend themselves to silky, rich mouthfeels and more luxurious caramel tones.

And last but not least, one of the most interesting vodkas to ever grace our shelves, Dan Aykroyd's very own Crystal Head Vodka.  Inspired by a very controversial archaeological mystery, 13 crystal head skulls have been found in regions around the world, from the American Southwest to Tibet, dating between 5,000 and 35,000 years old.  Made from the highest quality Bruni Glass and distilled using the deep glacial waters of Newfoundland,  this vodka is put through a quadruple distillation making it a pure as possible.  As a final stage, the liquid is filtered through 500-million year-old crystals known as Herkimer diamonds.  In the end, you are left with the most crisp, clean, smooth vodka around.  We have a few gift boxes left that come with free souvenir skull glasses.  Swing by today and get yours! $49.99

Until next time, keep pullin' those corks!
