Hello to all those who Imbibe,
Before we get to work, I'd like to take the time to let you know about a great event we're having this week for an amazing cause. This Wednesday (October 12th) from 5:30 - 8 p.m. Imbibe is hosting a Donor Appreciation Night for the Ronald McDonald House. Come by the store and support a great cause and enjoy outstanding wines by Imbibe and delicious food by Flame & Skewers and Café Crepes. Tickets available at the door.
BCC WINEMAKER DINNER - $89
Now first off, I'd like to tell you about an event coming up next week that is one not to be missed. Last year, we had the pleasure of hosting some of the best producers of Mt. Veeder and this we we're at it again. Next Thursday, October 20th at 6:30 p.m., we are hosting our 2nd Annual Winemaker Dinner at Bakersfield Country Club, featuring the wines of O'Shaughnessy and Robert Craig. Last year, we had over 100 guests and this year, I want to do the same. We will taste over one hundred dollars worth of wine (8 different wines), have a great dinner, enjoy good company and all for $89 per person. Now normally this would be a $150 dinner anytime or anyplace else. Tell a friend and come join for a very special night. I'm so sure you'll enjoy yourself that if you are not satisfied, I'll give you your money back. Call today or click below for tickets because seating is limited. 661-633-WINE (9463)
2007 Hidden Ridge Cabernet - $39.91
Now that I've got you thirsty, here are two of the most over achieving Cabernets we have ever received at Imbibe. First up is 2007 Hidden Ridge. Made by Marco DiGiulio who is an old friend and one of the finest winemakers in America. He made his name as the winemaker for Lokoya Wines back in the 1990s, which scored anywhere from 95-100, year after year. Hidden Ridge is located in Sonoma on the opposite side of Spring Mountain. It was originally planted in 2000, with vineyards ranging from 900-1700 feet elevations and slopes nearing 55%. This is one of the most beautiful vineyards I have ever seen. I sold this wine in Los Angeles for $75 a bottle. We made a special purchase and are offering this wine for only $39.91.
2008 Scully Cabernet - $45
Second up is the 2008 Scully. I spoke about this wine a month ago, telling you to get your name on the list. I sold my first 10 cases before it landed. We just received 10 more cases and take advantage because opportunities rarely appear twice. To explain the pedigree of this wine, the vineyards are on Mt. Veeder planted by David Abreu, the best vineyard manager in Napa, and made by Helen Keplinger, who is known for the wines of Bryant Family. I have known Helen and her husband DJ for some time, when they told me about this wine I bought it sight unseen knowing that the quality would be unmatched. As I write this e-mail, I'm sipping this wine and thinking that you don't know what you're missing. This is a wine that should sell for well over $100, but we are offering until it's gone for $45.
Until next time, keep pullin' those corks!
~David
