Hello to all those who Imbibe,
As always, we're happy to announce the arrival of some great new wines and some longtime favorites at Imbibe.
The 2009 Lewis Cabernet Sauvignon just rolled off the truck. Lewis is one of the great producers of our time. This wine has complex aromas of ripe boysenberry and dried currants with a hint of floral notes. Rich flavors of toffee with some bakers chocolate lead to a polished and dramatically long finish. Regular Price $90, Special email price $79.99
One of the best Chardonnays in America, the 2010 Lewis Chardonnay Sonoma hails from some of the oldest Dutton Ranch plantings in the Russian River Valley. Layers of lemon-lime citrus, honeysuckle and toasty tangerine flavors cover the palate. Regular price $50, Special email price $44.99
For those that thought great Merlot was a thing of the past, we offer to you the 2009 Lewis Merlot. This Merlot is an extremely limited offering with only 75 cases produced. In the glass, this wine is loaded with black plum, cedar, cocoa and clove spices on the nose. Once in your mouth, you will taste the melted cherry chocolate truffle flavor. Regular price $75, email price $69.99
And for the pièce de résistance, the 2008 Opus One has just arrived. Beginning with the first harvest in 1979, every vintage of Opus One has expressed the vision and passionate spirit of its founders. While the varietal percentage of each vintage is different, Opus One is most often a blend of five grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot. Winery price over $200, Imbibe price $174.50. This is the lowest price in the nation. Please call us to order at 661 633-WINE.
For those that are looking for some weeknight drinkers, we just brought in the wines of Madrigal Vineyards. Owner/partner Chris Madrigal is my favorite person in the wine business and his wines are almost as good as our friendship. Be sure to check out some of his fine selections and you too will benefit from such a great relationship.
2010 Madrigal Sauvignon Blanc - Last year, this wine was one of the highest rated Sauvignon Blancs by the Wine Spectator. $17.99
2008 Madrigal Zinfandel - Aromas of black raspberries and cherries with a mouth filling core of red berries, sweet fruit and lively black pepper. This is what all Zinfandel should taste like. $23.99
2007 Madrigal Cabernet Sauvignon - Sweat blackberry and cherry nose with a juicy cherry and crème de cassis on the palate. This wine is a thrill to drink. $29.99
2007 Madrigal Petite Sirah: Big, bold, and exuberant describe this wine. Aromas and flavors of black cherry, espresso, hints of black pepper and dark chocolate make this a favorite of mine. Pairs great with lamb, grilled meats and good friends. $27.99
If you've read this far, then you would be wise to ask us about a very special Sauvignon Blanc we received this week that is so special we cannot list on our website. I will give you a hint though. In twenty years of selling their Cabernet I have been offered one sole case of this wine and took it straight home. We got a call last week and were offered enough to satisfy some of our valued customers. We are only one of a few retailers in the nation to get this wine. Cost is $34.99...
Until next time, keep pullin' those corks!
