David Hello to all those who Imbibe,

The train from Napa just stopped in Bakersfield and we just had the chance to meet Peter Huwiler.  You may ask who is Peter Huwiler?  He was the CEO of Merryvale Vineyards for over a decade and has since moved on to start a new project with his son called Napa Station.  To put it simply, I have not tasted wines that deliver this much quality for so little a price. Before working for Merryvale Peter was head of national accounts for Ch. Ste. Michelle and exports for Kendall-Jackson. Peter has developed many relationships with growers in the Napa Valley from all the years of working with much larger wineries and chose to hire Faith Armstrong-Foster, assistant winemaker at Frank Family, to make his wines. These wines are very well made, clean and balanced that over deliver for the money. Stop in and collect all four!

2009 Napa Station Sauvignon Blanc:  Made from Oak Knoll, Carneros and Rutherford fruit. Bright aromas of apple, pear and melon with some ginger and a touch of grass. A wonderful richness with flavors of lemon and pear with some fig. You would normally pay $18-20 bucks for a wine of this quality. Imbibe Price $13.91

2008 Napa Station Chardonnay: Made from great Napa Valley fruit, this wine is bright clean with nice green apple, pineapple and grapefruit aromas. This wine tastes like ones usually double in price, offering tasty lemon, peach and baked pear flavors.  An excellent chardonnay at a wonderful price.  Regular price is 18.99, Imbibe Price $14.91

2008 Napa Station Merlot: A blend of mostly Merlot and some Cabernet that is mainly Los Carneros fruit. This could be my favorite wine of the line up and I don't drink a lot of Merlot.  Intense and concentrated aromas of black currants, cherries and raspberry with hints of cedar and tobacco. Merlot at twice the price shows some of this depth with graphite and mineral elements. Spicy black fruit and black tea flavors.  Imbibe Price $20.99

2007 Napa Station Cabernet Sauvignon: Let's start with the fact that the fruit comes from Rutherford, Oakville, Stags Leap, Atlas Peak and Carneros. Dark ruby with aromas of black currants, cherries and cedar. I loved the way the wine coated my mouth with graphite like minerality that you only get in expensive wines. To find a 2007 Vintage this good for this price is very rare. Trust me, buy by the case.  Imbibe Price $22.99

Alright, one last thing and then I'll get off my soapbox.  Many of you know we have a great walk in humidor. When building out the humidor we built only twenty private lockers for our customers. After many requests to get something going, we have come up with a plan. Effective today we will be offering these lockers on a first come first serve basis. They will be offered on an annual basis. Cost is only $180.00 annually, $15.00 per month. That is the cost of a good cigar to store your cigars for a month. Each locker is lined with Spanish cedar and can hold up to 250 cigars.  Come in and take a look. Once they're gone, they're gone.

Until next time, keep pullin' those corks!

~David
