Beer

DanHello to all those who Imbibe,

While the bosses are away, Dan "The Beer Man" Rainey comes out to play.  With the temperature rising each day, this is definitely the perfect week for beer, and here at Imbibe we just had some new, chilled ones roll off the truck.  Check out these few below that I recommend as great brews to quench your thirst and warm the soul.  For a look at a list of other great beers that came in, CLICK HERE

Remember, Imbibe is the ideal spot for any level of beer-lover.  With mix and match six-packs available every day, there is no better place to get the microbrews you know and love.  And don't forget to stop in sometime soon to see what new and fun beers we've got on tap this week.

Organic Honey Dew by Fuller Brewing
Organic Honey Dew is the UK's best selling organic beer. Light and golden with a zesty edge and a bitter-sweet flavor, Honey Dew is a naturally palatable brew that is Soil Association approved. Served chilled, Organic Honey Dew offers both refreshment and an unbeatable taste. The real organic honey in the brew gives a gentle sweetness that appeals to a wide range of people, even those who perhaps wouldn't usually drink beer, making it a very popular choice! Truly a refreshing brew. $4.50

Pale 31 by Firestone Walker
The flavor is great, it's a balance between the malt and hop which is quite impressive. There is a tiny tiny amount of bitterness in the end, mostly a floral hop flavor though. I didn't get any fruits from it, it tastes very spring-planty. The malty sweetness comes out as honey, like a piece of Hawaiian sweet bread with a thin glazed of honey on it.  This beer makes a hot afternoon just a bit more tolerable.

Organic Strawberry Ale by Samuel Smith
Strawberries and beer who would of thought. But what better combination for a refreshing summer drink. Strawberries offer a soft and subtle flavor, making the character of this fruit beer extremely sophisticated and refined. The smooth malt and aromatic strawberry flavors merge together in an elegant fashion, with fresh, ripe strawberries shining through.

Kern River Just Outstanding IPAKern River Brewing Just Outstanding IPA
This India Pale Ale has a strong malt character and a large hop profile. Dry hopped  with Simcoe and Amarillo hops gives this beer a great floral aroma and citrus finish. If you like a strong IPA, you'll find this one just outstanding. The mouthfeel is clean and refreshing and keeps you coming back for more.

Cheers!

Summer Stock Up Sale

Great Value Wines Under $15

10% off a mixed case of these wines!!!

2010 Bertani Velante Pinot Grigio - $9.91
Pinot Grigio is the perfect wine for summer, crisp, clean with refreshing acidity. This classis Italian bottling displays aromas and tastes of golden apple, pear and peach.  Making it perfect for warm nights, seafood and salads.

2009 Tamas Pinot Grigio - $9.91
Similar to its Italian brother, this Pinot Grigio comes from our very own central coast.  Bright green apple and citrus fruits lead the way to subtle minerality and pleasant honeyed finish.  This offering is super approachable and works well on its own or with a meal.

2009 Tamas Double Decker Red - $9.91
Blessed with a cooler climate and even ripening, this lovely table red is made for barbecues.  The blackberry, black cherry and plum deliver on the nose and palate while retaining great structure and a smooth, easy drink that works well with meats and grilled dishes.

2009 Tariquet Ugni Blanc - $8.91
Made famous as the grape of Cognac, this still wine bottling offers up superbly crisp and dry tropical fruit, citrus and summer florals, with a beautiful acidity.  This is a wine you have to try to see how delicious it really is.

2009 Turnbull Sauvignon Blanc - $14.91
Turnbull's 2009 Sauvignon Blanc has aromas of grapefruit, guava and melon. The wine exhibits bright fussed fruit flavors balanced by a slight minerality. The wine is crisp and lively with medium body and a long lasting finish.

2009 Vina Borgia Garnacha - $8.99
Hailing from a country that loves its outdoor meals almost as much as its wine, this classic Spanish Garnacha shows notes of red berries, Asian spices and white pepper.  Sweet, slightly jammy black raspberry and spice flavors make it the ideal paring with habenero fig glazed ribs and baked beans.
