The summer has finally arrived and at Imbibe there is always a lot going on. First up, I'd like to tell you about a very exciting tasting we're hosting at Bakersfield Country Club, the "Best of Paso" wine tasting. We have put together what we think are the best line up of new-comer wineries to ever visit Bakersfield in one night.
The following wineries, along with their respective owner or winemaker, will be there pouring their favorite wines: Adelaida Cellars, Alta Colina, Brochelle Vineyards, Caliza Winery, Grey Wolf, Halter Ranch, Hearst Ranch and Vina Robles. Come hungry because in addition to all the great wine, we will have plenty of delicious bites to accompany. For more information, check out our blog spot here. The tasting will be Friday, June 24th @ 6:30- 9:00 pm. Cost is $79.00 per person.
With all the amazing events going on, it's hard to believe that we have time to keep bringing equally amazing wines in to offer. Stop in soon and see the wave of outstanding new wines that have just landed. For those that are fans of old favorites, we just received the last 10 cases of 2007 Sequum Cabernet Sauvignon ($39.99) and Zinfandel ($29.99). We voted the 2006 Cab the #1 wine for 2010 and the 2007 Zinfandel is easily my favorite Zin I have tasted all year.
Also, be sure to check out two new Cabernets from Meyer Family Cellars, the2008 Spitfire and the 2008 Fluffy Billows (both $44.99), that just arrived. Less than 100 cases of each were produced from Meyer's Oakville vineyards, which coincidently are located right next to their famed Bonny's Vineyard that sells for over $125 a bottle. We are one of the only stores in the Nation to get these wines and they are not only outstanding, they are also limited. Stop in a pick up your six-pack today.
Under the best buy category: I want to tell you about another old favorite that is consistently great year after year, the 2007 Rombauer Cabernet. We are offering this for the unbelievable price of $29.99; Winery price - $42. Get yours soon because this price won't last forever!
Two new 2008 Vintage Cabernets that showed very well on my last trip to Napa are in stock now. Both of these wines were my standout wines that over-delivered. The 2008 Hall Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa ($47.99), I found it first, but sure enough Mr. P
arker just scored this wine 95/100 and now everyone wants the wine. Stop in soon because it won't last long. Also worth a serious look is the 2008 Textbook Oakville Cabernet ($49.99). I tasted this wine in a room full of wines that started at $125 and I found this wine to be not only fantastic, but possibly the best wine attending. Only 12 barrels (300 cases) for the world, we got 3 cases.
Last up is a fun wine that we just got back into stock, the 2007 Paraduxx Red ($39.99). This wine comes from the Duckhorn family of wineries and is a blend of Zin, Cab, Merlot and a touch of Cab Franc. I love this wine and you will too.
Until next time, keep pullin' those corks,
David and the Imbibe team
