Spring Value Wines
2009 Clos de Nouys Vouvray Demi-sec - $14.99
Made entirely from the Chenin Blanc, this bottling is a fine, off-dry, succulent white with tangy apple and quince fruit and a fresh, clean finish. Well balanced, and not in the least bit cloying.
2010 Girard Sauvignon Blanc - $14.99
Coming out of the famed Napa Valley, this is the perfect summer quaffer. Bright acidity, crisp and clean flavors of lemon, lime zest and subtle tropical notes, all supported by a firm, underlying slate minerality. Perfect for sipping by the pool or with lightly-dressed fish dishes.
2009 Paso a Paso Verdejo - $11.99
Quite possibly one of the most popular white wines to come out of Spain, Verdejo is a subtly sweet wine with flavors like asian pear, ripe peaches and meyer lemon. This is the white wine for folks that don't like white wine. No over-oaked flavors, no super-dry finish, just great, easy-drinking wine.
2009 Sextant Chardonnay - $13.99
Sextant is well-known around these due in part to that fact that they have local connections to Bakersfield, but what really makes them special is what they deliver in the bottle. Their Central Coast Chardonnay is loaded with fresh pineapple, coconut and sweet vanilla, with a hint of toast. This bottle pairs well with good friends and cool Spring nights.
2010 Gascon Malbec $12.99
When you are looking for a great bottle of wine that is smooth to drink and flavorful to taste, look no further than the Gascon Malbec. This is a wine that we have been a fan of since Imbibe has been around. Black cherry and plum skin fill the glass, while aromatics of cinnamon spice and clove dance on the finish.
2009 Cercius Cotes du Rhone - $12.99
A classic Rhone blend made of mostly Grenache with the balance made up of Syrah, this bottling is full and rich enough to please any red wine drinker, but also very balanced and pairs beautifully with grilled meats and hearty vegetables.
2007 Montoya Cabernet Sauvignon - $12.91
The Montoya Cabernet Sauvignon is simply put, the best value in Cabernet out there. If your wine shelf is not stocked with three or four bottles of Montoya, you are missing out. With typical flavors of Cabernet, this bottling displays black cherry, cassis and nice burnt caramel tones. Where other Cabernets let the fruit run away with the wine, this offering is well-balanced with beautiful structure.
