Imbibe new
A LITTLE SOMETHING FOR EVERYBODY

New Wine, Beer and Spirits

DavidHello to all those who Imbibe,

Congratulations, Bakersfield!  Steinbeck Wines are finally at Imbibe.  Since Imbibe Wine has been around, many folks have been asking for the best up and coming stars that Paso has to offer and we have continued to deliver.  From Adelaida at the end of last year, and Alta Colina the beginning of the year, we bring you producers whose portfolios exemplify the pride in their work and express the terroir of the region.  Steinbeck Vineyards is no different.

Howie and Bev Steinbeck come from a line of six generations of farming heritage with a family from Paso dating back to 1884.  The majority of their years have been spent supplying their premium quality wine grapes to top-notch wine producers like J.Lohr and Eberle around the area.  After ten years of dreaming, their idea of making their own label with the top 1% of their grapes came into fruition.  With the help of Winemaker Steve Glossner, of JUSTIN fame, the 2006 inaugural vintage for Steinbeck was outstanding.  We at Imbibe are happy to announce that their 2007 vintage Cabernet Sauvignon and Crash Proprietary Blend are in and not to be missed.

2007 Steinbeck Cabernet Sauvginon - $43.99

This bottling comes from the best that Steinbeck Vineyards has to offer.  28 year old vines produce lavish fruit complexity while still staying in balance with a firm, driving minerality.  Rich black currant blends with dusty cocoa powder and finishes with notes of tobacco leaf and molasses.  Enjoy now or age for 3 - 5 years.

2007 Crash Proprietary Blend - $41.99

The Crash bottling was made to commemorate the crash landing of a B-26 bomber on the family property back in 1956.  This blend is made up of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Zinfandel, 14% Petite Sirah, and 6% Viognier.  This blend, known as "Steinbeck in a glass," starts on the front palate with dark cherries, softening into baked cherries on the middle palate, then evolves to black pepper and licorice on the silky finish.

Until next time, keep pullin' those corks,

David and the Imbibe team

CAYMUS PRE-SALE

2009 Caymus Napa Valley Cabernet is openly fruity, rich, lush and layered, serving up a complex mix of plum, blackberry, black licorice and spices. This wine is full bodied, supple and "always the favorite". Pre-sale price applicable until the wine lands.

May Pre-sale price 59.99

2009 Conundrum is a branch of the Caymus family of wines; the Conundrum is a real puzzle, combining Sauvignon Blanc, Muscat Canelli, Chardonnay and Viognier. Loads of green apple, tangerine and sweet white flowers jump out of the glass followed with wonderful flavors of stone fruit, ripe melon and citrus. This is a great wine as an aperitif and it complements any salad. This wine proves that the whole is bigger than the parts.

Imbibe price for May is $17.99
