Great New Wines at Imbibe

 David

Hello To All Those Who Imbibe,

I would like to take a minute and tell you about some new wines that just arrived at the store.

  2008 Numanthia Termes

$21.99 or buy 6 $19.99

First up is a wine from Spain made of 100% Tempranillo. The Numanthia Winery has been making some of the finest wines in all of Spain for many years now and the release of the 2008 vintage shows amazing flavors that are elegant, rich and complex. In the glass, the bouquet shows notes of tobacco and spice, with a hint of vanilla, chocolate and cinnamon.  Wine Spectator even scored this bottling an impressive 91/100. This is a definitely a wine that all wine lovers should try. You will see this wine around for $25 plus; Imbibe price is $21.99 and will reduce to $19.99 if you buy a six pack.

2009 Rombauer Napa Zinfandel

$24.99

Also in this week is the new release of Rombauer Zin. We have been waiting for this wine for a few months and it turns out to have been well worth the wait. This is a wine that is dark ruby in color with ripe aromas of fresh boysenberry jam, bright raspberry and sweet vanilla. I am pleased to say that this wine displays a perfect balance of fruit flavors, strong acidity and a velvety forever finish. This bottling is a great match with leg of lamb, barbecue ribs or dark chocolate. Imbibe price - $24.99.

2010 Meyer Family Rose

$15.99

And last, but certainly not least, is a wine that is perfect for the beautiful weather we've been enjoying.  Be sure to stop in and to check out the 2010 Meyer Family Rose. We poured this wine at the Winemaker's dinner that we hosted a few weeks ago at Bakersfield Country Club and this was a crowd favorite. The subtle sweetness and dry finish make it a great match with barbecuing and sunny weather. It has crisp, slightly pronounced acidity and a great refreshing fruit characteristics on both the nose and the palate. At $15.99 a bottle this is a rose you drink just as easily in front of the tv as by the pool.

Until next time, keep pullin' those corks!

- David
