New Value Wines

DavidHello To All Those Who Imbibe,

I just returned from Napa and boy, do I have some exciting wines to tell you about in the very near future, so be sure to keep posted.

We've also been putting together some great events with amazing wines, and March kicks off a big season of great tasting events for us.

Meyer Family Cellars Winemaker Dinner

First up, I've got winemaker and longtime friend, Matt Meyer coming in on Saturday, March 26th to host a Winemaker's Dinner at Bakersfield Country Club.  Matt learned the art of making wine from his father and Silver Oak founder, Justin Meyer.  To taste his wines is to taste some of the best representations of these varietals around.  Seating is limited, so pick up your tickets today.  For more details, check out the link below.

Friday Night Flight 3/4/11

Another event that I think you all might be very interested in is our upcoming Friday Night Flight.  This week's flight is featuring The Best of Grenache.  The highlight is the very coveted 2008 Saxum James Berry Vineyard, but this wine will also have some great company with producers like Alban, Torrin, K Vintners and Keplinger.  Stop in and get a taste early because I guarantee these bottles will disappear quickly.

Be sure to check out the great new value wines that we just received late last week.  These are some of the best wines around for under $10 -  perfect for both your wallet and your weeknight Imbibing.

Until next time, keep pullin' those corks!

- David

Great Value Wines at Imbibe

2009 Lucky Star Pinot Noir

$9.99

Lucky Star selects grapes from Pinot Noir vineyards across California's best growing areas. In these regions, warm sunny days are moderated by cooling influences, allowing the grapes longer time to mature on the vine. Their vineyard sources range from Sonoma County and Napa Valley to the Sacramento River Delta. Grapes harvested from a variety of vineyards and growing regions provide unique flavor components that together create a balanced, complex and harmonious wine. In the glass, ripe red raspberry and cherry aromas carry through to the palate, balanced by a crisp yet silky finish.

2009 Quattro Mani Montepulciano

$10.99

Top 100 2011 #82. Montepulciano has long been the bastard child of the Italian red wine industry. Typically cheap (in price and in quality), generations of winemakers have churned it out by the truckload in jugs. Well, things have changed in this region southeast of Umbria and Tuscany. A new generation of winemakers has gotten serious about quality, though admittedly, there's a ceiling to how serious this grape can be. Quattro Mani, Italian for 'Four Hands', represents the four winemakers involved in producing this wine. In the glass, the wine is ruby red with purple hues. The nose is fresh with aromas of currant, strawberry and raspberry. The palate is fruity, well balanced, medium-bodied and smooth. This is a great all around red - it should be your 'Friday Night Pizza Wine'!

2009 Dancing Bull Chardonnay

$7.99

This California Chardonnay is aged in stainless steel rather than oak to preserve the fruit flavors. Refreshingly crisp and balanced, this wine has a nose full of vanilla and honeysuckle and flavors of juicy peaches. The crisp acidity makes this wine a perfect complement to pasta dishes.
