When did you last taste the wines of

Charles Smith?

Taste six this Friday.

Wine Bar Friday Tastings
are back!

DavidHello To All Those Who Imbibe,

Wine Bar Fridays are back! And we're kicking off the new year with a bang by featuring  wines of Charles Smith. Stop by with a friend to taste Heart, Old Bones, Skull, K Phil Lane, Ovide and The Boy.

Charles Smith enjoys a cult following that means his wines are hard to find. Opportunities to taste all of these wines together are rare. Don't miss out!

While you're here, ask one of the wine staff about the release of Morlet wines at Imbibe.  These are very limited wines and will disappear quickly...we hope you sock some away in your locker for a special occasion. You'll be glad you did!

Have a Happy New Year!

- David

Have you tried
Morlet Wines?

Got a call today from a good friend in the industry who was kind enough to offer me the wines of Luc Morlet.   Luc was previously the winemaker for Peter Michael Winery and now works as a consultant to his brother, winemaker Nicolas Morlet.  I have met with and tasted the wines of Morlet Family Vineyards, and I can assure you, I've never tasted finer California wines, period. Robert Parker agrees,  naming Luc Morlet one of the Valley's most talented wine producers.

This is the first time these wines have been offered to Imbibe, and as such they are limited in availability.   - David

My Zen Moment...

Sitting in yoga this morning I reflected on the past year. Foremost, I want to say thank you again for the support you have given me, Tami, and the entire Imbibe team in 2010; you have far exceeded our expectations. Imbibe is truly one of those "build it and they will come" stories. Tami and I have shared this vision to build the finest retail wine and spirits store in the nation and we are well on our way - right here in Bakersfield.

We were fortunate this last year to have the opportunity to assist many great groups in our community: Links for Life, Junior League of Bakersfield, Bakersfield Art Museum, CASA, Garden Pathways, March of Dimes and many others. A wise friend told me years ago, when you volunteer, you are paying your rent for your space on earth.  Many of us are current with the rent; maybe some of us need to work on getting current. When you volunteer, it costs you nothing but your time. I challenge all of you to look around, and when you can, pull someone up with a helping hand.

These were the thoughts that passed through my head in that Zen minute in yoga class. On that note, I recommend trying yoga this New Year and see how it may change your life.

Thanks for choosing Imbibe Wine. We're always happy when you visit. Until next time, keep pulling corks!
