Hello To All Those Who Imbibe,
Tami and I just got back from visiting our daughter in San Francisco, and on the way home I started thinking about all the great events coming up at Imbibe in the next couple of weeks.
Our first event is this Thursday, November 11th from 5 - 8 pm. We will be hosting a Port and Madeira Tasting with Vince McCarthy of Premium Port Wines, Inc. Cost of the tasting is $15. In addition, we'll be customizing our cheese plates available that evening to pair perfectly with the lineup, and offering them at a discount.
Friday November 12th, we'll be kicking off a new night of music with Bob Beadling from 6:30 - 9:30. Stop in and enjoy beautiful his beautiful piano keyboard music. He's promised to take requests, too! Enjoy our wine bar - we're featuring California Chardonnays under $30. What a great chance to explore this very popular varietal.
Then, on November 18th from 5 - 8 pm, we will be hosting our annual Beaujolais Nouveau Release Party. Taste four wines for $5 and enjoy small French Bistro bites by PM Custom Catering for $10. This event only comes but once a year, so don't miss out!
For our final event in November, we put together something special. That evening we will have Rodeo & Juliet live in our Wine Bar. Join Imbibe in welcoming award-winning producer, songwriter and vocalists, Chris and Jan Harris on one of their stops for their cross county tour celebrating 30 years together. Like Chris says, "We figured 30 years ought to be worth something. We think that anything that was good for June and Johnny (Cash) is good enough for us." This is a don't miss event, bring a friend. No Cover Charge!
One last thing I'd like to let you know about are two outstanding wines that just landed at Imbibe. We had to work to get such an amazing buy, but we just made a special purchase on Sonoma-Cutrer Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Both are wines you must try to believe.
The 2008 Sonoma-Cutrer Russian River Ranches Chardonnay is always very well made. When I took my first sip, I was very impressed with flavors of lemon, pear and grapefruit, with a lingering minerality on the finish. This is one of the best selling Chardonnays in the nation. You will see it around for $23, but at Imbibe you pay only $19.99. We got such a great deal on this wine that we are able to take care of you even further. For the next couple of weeks, if you buy a case of the Sonoma-Cutrer Chardonnay, we'll throw in a case of my favorite water on the planet, Waiwera from New Zealand, for only 24 cents!
And just as impressive is the 2007 Sonoma-Cutrer Russian Ranch Pinot Noir. This is the sixth vintage by this producer, but only the first to make it to retail. We had a chance to taste this year's vintage and talked them into giving us a couple of cases. This wine has a touch of black pepper and flavors of red currant, blackberry and pomegranate. We've been trying to get this wine for years, and we've finally received our first small ration. Stop in and pick up a few bottles before it disappears for good. Imbibe price $23.99
Until next time,
~ David
