Great Fall Wines
|
Hello to All Those Who Imbibe,

With the cool breezes and the promise of Autumn soon upon us, our thoughts and palates turn toward darker shades of wine. The chilly evenings become perfect for opening a bottle with friends and family and enjoying some time together.
To make these moments even more special, we at Imbibe have put together a lineup of amazing wines to welcome in the Fall. Many of these wines are very limited in quantity, so stop in soon before they disappear. ~ David |
2007 Calera Pinot Noir Mills Vineyard
(95/100 WA) $46.99
Notes of black raspberry, cherry and muddle mushrooms give way to a rich and chewy palate of sweet currants and aged beef. Sweet tannins, vibrant fruit and solid acidity combine and make a long, full-flavored finish. Easy paired with almost any meal or friend.
2007 Calera Pinot Noir Ryan Vineyard $40.99 Calera wines always show exceptionally well, but their Pinot Noir Ryan Vineyard has a way of displaying Mt. Harlan's signature minerality. This wine offers a beautiful balance of deep and juicy, ripe plum, bright cherry and toasted spice. Perfect structure and velvety tannins make for a thoroughly enjoyable wine.
2008 Herman Story Syrah Nuts&Bolts
(95/100 WA) $35.99
This is a syrah to seek out. This offering from Herman Story delivers a powerhouse of flavor. Potpourri and bramble fruit on the nose, supple, sweet fruit and tannins on the tongue. This wine is as complex as its finish is long. Enjoyable for years to come.
2008 Herman Story Casual Encounters GSM (93/100 WA) $35.9930% Grenache, 40% Syrah, 30% Mourvedre. A perfect sense of blackberry, anise and clove evolve on the palate to a deep smoke and savory tannins. Whether you're a fan of blends, Rhone or otherwise, this is a must try.
2008 Alta Maria Pinot Noir $25.99 With a little more subdued fruit, this Pinot Noir exhibits very Burgundian characteristics. The perfect wine for Fall, great spice, turned earth and crushed raspberries. Should drink perfectly for the next few years. For fans of great whites, ask about the Chardonnay made by the same producer.
2007 K Vintners Syrah Phil Lane Vineyard
(96/100 WA) $73.99
From critically-acclaimed winemaker and self-proclaimed rockstar, K Vinters Syrah comes from the discerning mind of Charles Smith. With only 6 barrels of the 2007 Syrah Phil Lane Vineyard produced, you can imagine how quickly this one will vanish. Opaque purple in color, this wine captures all the flavors that make the Phil Lane vineyard unique, a clean minerality, ripe blackberry fruit, with earthy, chocolate tannins leading the march. A wine that will not disappoint. |
