Hello to All Those Who Imbibe,
Richard
Since the kids are in school hard at work, I thought I'd better do a little homework of my own and let you all know about some of the best new wines releasing this month.

As many of you know, my favorite white varietal is Sauvignon Blanc and right now you would be hard pressed to find a better offering than the 2009 Girard Sauvignon Blanc.  This wine is very clean, fresh and crisp with aromas of citrus, pineapple and guava and a delicate palate of grapefruit and meyer lemon.  This wine is a perfect match with lighter fare like white fish, green salads and goat cheese.  Winemaker Marco DeGiulio has been making great wines in Napa Valley for over a dozen years.  No question, if his name's on the label, buy it. Imbibe's price is $14.99.

For those looking for wine of a darker hue, consider the 2007 Rombauer Cabernet Sauvignon.  We all know and love Rombauer's Chardonnay, but the '07 Cabernet is quite possibly the best they've ever produced.  In addition to being from one of California's great vintages, this wine also benefits by virtue of it's terroir; Napa Valley, Stag's Leap, St. Helena, Atlas Peak and Calistoga.  Loaded with pomegranate, black cherry, mint and chocolate, this wine is impossible to beat for the money.  The winery sells it for $42, but Imbibe's price is so low we can't put it in print.  Stop in before it all disappears.

Last up is quite possibly one of the best buys Imbibe has ever made in Chardonnay, the 2009 Calera Mt. Harlan.  Owner Josh Jenson has produced fine collections of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay longer than any other New World producer.  This Chardonnay shows Josh's commitment to traditional Burgundian methods of viticulture and enology.  Notes of white currant, nectarine, orange blossom and lemon butter add to the wine's incredibly complex palate and full-bodied finish.  This is Grand Cru quality Chardonnay.  Calera's entire portfolio is already extremely limited, and with Robert Parker scoring the wine a 96/100, it won't last long on our shelves.  Imbibe offers it at $29.99
