Occasionally the stars align and we put together a week's calendar of events that truly exemplifies the art and craft of top quality wine, spirits and beer.
This is one of those weeks. As we prep this e-mail, we're listening to live music by Bob Beadling and Rick Lincoln. Not a bad way to work...
Tomorrow (the18th), we have the pleasure of presenting one of the most inventive and exciting breweries in the States.
Allagash Brewing Company started 15 years ago and aimed to fill the gap in the American beer market for brews that were both creative and retained the use of ancient Belgian brewing methods. Be sure to check these guys out; you will not be disappointed. You can also indulge tomorrow night with sliders from PM Custom Catering between 5 and 8 p.m.
Then on Thursday (the 19th) we've arranged for Jenni Karakasevic of the famous
Charbay Distillery, based in Napa Valley, to pour at Café Med from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. One of the most striking differences between Charbay and almost any other vodka producer on the market is their commitment to exceptional quality ingredients & slow distilling. Co-owner Jenni Karakasevic will be on hand to talk about their philosophy and show off their outstanding lineup. Fabulous appetizers will abound at Cafe Med. Don't miss this fun tasting event.
On Friday, Imbibe has paired up with the
Bakersfield Friends of Wine Society to host a wine and dinner event at the Petroleum Club on Friday evening. This is undoubtedly the wine and food event of the season. We hoped to invite you to enjoy the delicious wines of
Flowers,
Faust,
Quintessa, and
Orin Swift of Prisoner fame paired with fare by the Club's Executive Chef, Robert Alimirzaie; however, the event sold out late this afternoon. Thanks to all who responded and signed up. This will be a fantastic evening.
If you don't have tickets to the BFOW event, don't despair, we're pulling corks on some serious cabernets from the 2004 vintage. If you DO have tickets to the BFOW event, stop by on your way to the Petroleum Club.
Saturday evening's Jazz line-up features Bob Beadling on keyboards and Steve Eisen on trumpet. Stop by between 6 and 8:30 for an intimate jazz performance.
All in all, a fantastic lineup of events and we hope you find something that appeals to you. For more information, be sure to check out the links below. Until next time, keep pullin' those corks...
