Silver Oak
Alexander Valley
$59.99 |
Hello to All Those Who Imbibe,
When I think August, I think Silver Oak Alexander Valley. Every August the new vintage of Silver Oak Alexander Valley is released.
In 1972, when Ray Duncan and Justin Meyer first formed Silver Oak Cellars, the phrase "drinkable upon release" was almost unheard of. California Cabernet Sauvignon was still being made in classic Bordeaux style, and it was commonly thought that the bigger and more tannic the wine, (and the longer you needed to age it) the better it must be - eventually. Ray and Justin had a very different idea. They believed that if you did the right things in the vineyards and winery and let the wine age in bottle before release, you could present people with a Cabernet Sauvignon that was delicious, drinkable and paired beautifully with food on the day it was purchased.
Silver Oak's Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is soft and shows a fruit-forward character. It also drinks better sooner than the Napa Valley bottling.
For the month of August we will be offering Silver Oak Winery Alexander Valley Cabernet for $59.99; winery price is $70 per bottle.
Enjoy!
