2007 Groth Cabernet

2008 Caymus presale

Littorai Pinots

Hello to all those who Imbibe,David

It's been said that Cab is King, and certainly our Cabernet sales ranking proves that out. I've got  some special offers on two of the finest Cabernets in America.

2007 Groth Cabernet $39.99
This wine is big and lush with gobs of fruit in the aromas and flavors. When I was in Napa last month this was one of the standout wines at the Oakville tasting. Lots of sweet vanilla with black cherry and blackberry flavors and aromas. At the winery  you have to pay $57; at  Imbibe the price is $39.99. Let us know how much you want. This wine at this price won't last long.

2008 Caymus Cabernet $58
Imbibe is taking presale orders for this wine through the end of the June. This wine always sells out in just a few months and it will be long gone before the Holiday season this year. Presale price is $58 per bottle. In July the wine will sell for $65 per bottle.

The wine has aromas of pipe tobacco and hints of cedar with flavors of dark chocolate, sweet tobacco, mocha, leather, and brown spice. Always one the favorite Cabernets at Imbibe. The wine will arrive at Imbibe June 22nd.

A last reminder about the the Wine Festival at Bakersfield Country Club this Friday, June 25th at 6:30pm. Available to taste will be the wines of Pahlmeyer, Cakebread Cellars, Ch Montelena, Flora Springs, Isolibre, Schramsberg, Melville and Jack Creek Cellars. Sign up at Imbibe for only $65.

Littorai Wines Estate Winery.

After much searching and favors owed and granted, Littorai Wines are now available at Imbibe.  We were only able to secure twelve bottles of each so be sure to call in or stop by to get yours before they're gone.

Littorai's philosophy of winegrowing is inspired by owner Ted Lemon's years in France and is based upon the concept of terroir. Terroir based winemaking postulates that wine of a single place produced by a single estate, is the greatest expression of winemaking. All of the sites in the Littorai vineyard portfolio have been carefully selected by Ted.
The Lemons are life-long, family winemakers, passionately committed to their craft. Littorai is not motivated by competitions, ratings or trends, nor by the lure of publicity. It is devoted to the mystery of wine, not the science. Littorai seeks to create wines of elegance, length and finesse, wines which gain in complexity as they age. Littorai creates wines whose balance and proportion make them uniquely suited for dining and for great cuisine.

2008 Sonoma Coast Pinot $40.99
Both this and the Les Larmes Anderson Valley Pinot Noir have benefitted from the additional year of bottle aging. The Sonoma Coast combines great spice intensity in the aromatics and woodsy, forest floor aromas with moderate tannins and good sweetness. This wine is more linear than Les Larmes and more elegant. It will be delightful for the next few years.

2007 Les Larmes Anderson Valley Pinot $40.99
The Les Larmes is more fruit driven than the Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir, with darker tones of blackberry and plum and a more supple mid palate. This may make it more appealing to New World palates. Having said this, the wine has plenty of tannic structure to balance the richness. The comparison between these two wines is absolutely representative of the terroir differences between the true Sonoma Coast and Anderson Valley. It is difficult for us to claim a preference!
