Imbibe new
Dad would, however, probably enjoy a nice bottle of Single Malt Scotch.

Father's Day is this Sunday, June 20th.

Hello to all those who Imbibe,
David
With Fathers day just around the corner and the summer heat kicking in pretty good this week, I thought it would be a good time to talk about something special for the dad in your life along with some wines for summer quaffing. Enjoy!

Tomorrow night is your chance to try seven (!) great summer beers and enjoy tacos by Katy Houchin at PM Catering. We're serving anytime from 5:00 to 8:00. Details and pricing are in the left column of this e-mail.
Jack Daniels Tennessee Whiskey Single Barrel $44.99
Jack Daniel Single Barrel
This bottling of Jack Daniel's Single Barrel was hand selected, after rigorous tasting, by me when I went back to Lynchburg, Tennessee last year. Only ten percent of all Jack Daniel's makes it to single barrel and because no two barrels can occupy the exact same space within the barrel house, the whiskey that emerges from each barrel develops a difference in character. Evidence of the unique background is displayed on the bottle's neckband indicating that this barrel was specially selected for Imbibe Wine and Spirits Merchant. With each bottle purchased, you are added to the drawing for the exact barrel this whiskey came from.

Single Malt Scotch for Father's Day

Bruichladdich Black Art 1989 $156.99
Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky. Distilled in 1989; bottled in 2009; aged 19 years in oak casks. A spellbinding dram created over the years by head distiller Jim McEwan, in the Stygian darkness of warehouse #12. Aged first in Bourbon casks then assorted & undisclosed wine casks; bottled at cask strength.

Bruichladdich Infinity 3D $88.99
Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky. This is the 3rd edition of Infinity. It was aged in American oak, Bourbon and Syrah casks and bottled in 2009. Infinity is a multi-vintage Bruichladdich, designed by distilling legend Jim McEwan, to showcase the complexity of the spirit. After exploring the vast maturing stocks of whisky he has put together selected casks unearthed from across the ages. These are Bruichladdichs of diverse vintage character, cask type and barley harvest to create a sophisticated flavor profile elevated to a stellar level and produce a truly infinite finish.

Singleton's 12 Year Old $33.99
Single Malt Scotch Whisky of Glendullan. This round, elegant and beautifully balanced malt comes from the heart of Speyside. Made slowly and traditionally, with selected barley and pure water from the high hills above the glen. Long aging in a unique balance of European Sherry Oak and American Bourbon Oak casks allows The Singleton of Glendullan to develop its rich, smooth character.

The Wines of Summer
Perfect every day

2008 Conundrum $22.99Conundrum
(19.99 if you buy six)

2008 Conundrum is made by the Wagner family, owners of Caymus Winery. This is a white wine blend of five grapes with a cornucopia of aromas and flavors. Very floral, tropical and crisp aromas with pear, honey, fig, vanilla, peach and nectarine flavors on the palate. This is a fine wine!

Broadbent Vino Verde $9.99Broadbent Vino Verde
This is the most popular white wine from Portugal; it is a deliciously refreshing, light wine with gentle spritz. "Verde" means "green" refers to the hints of lime color. An ideal warm weather wine, excellent for lunch and picnics, this wine is equally as lovely as an evening aperitif. It makes a brilliant pairing with any fish and poultry and Wine Writer Jordan Mackay says "it's the world's greatest pairing for a Caesar salad and it has to be the most thirst-quenching wine on the planet". At only 9% alcohol it's a wine you can drink and drink forever.

Bodega Sangria (Red or White) $6.99
Bodega Sangria
Last up for today is Bodega Sangria Red or White. When I think of Sangria, I think of wine with mixed fruits and soda. This wine is simple to open and serve over ice. Brighten any event with Bodega's bright orange colors and mythic flamenco goddess carrying a sunny basket of grapes, oranges and lemons. A bargain for crowded summer parties or even lounging solo by the pool. These intense wines are sweet and are best served icy cold or on the rocks.  This is a party in a bottle, try one of each.
