First ever release - three 2007 vineyard designated wines from Epoch Estate of Paso Robles

$55.99
each
very limited supply
Hello to all those who Imbibe,

This week we received some of the finest wine coming out of the Paso Robles region. Epoch Estate was founded by Bill and Liz Armstrong. David

Epoch Estate is a new winery and 2007 is their first release. A geologist by trade, Bill spared no expense in locating a unique microclimate and this is a top notch operation that is putting out exciting wines with the help of Justin Smith of Saxum Vinyards as consulting winemaker, Matt Hobbs as General Manager (Paul Hobbs' brother) and David Jelinek as winemaker who previously worked with Harlan Estate, Joseph Phelps and Groth wineries in Napa Valley.

All the wines show perfectly ripe fruit, awesome textures and balanced, polished characters. These wines  worth the look. Don't let me tell you I told you so!!

2007 Epoch Estate Veracitee $55.99
From The Rhone Review:A blend of 48% grenache, 39% mourvedre and 13% syrah, the 2007 Veracitee was reticent on the nose but opened up nicely with air to show pure, fresh aromatics. Beautiful blackberry jam notes are mixed with spiced meat, underbrush and a hint of sweet oak on the nose and these carries over onto the palate where the wine is medium to full bodied, textured, balanced and silky. This showed more structure on the second day and is a knockout wine to drink over the next 10 years. 93 pts.

2007 Epoch Authenticitee $55.99
From The Rhone Review: The 2007 Authenticitee is a blend of 88% syrah and 12% mourvedre and shows fantastic aromatics. Big, dark and ripe with loamy earth, minerals, blackberry, cassis and spice aromas that are supported by hot asphalt and beef juice nuances. The palate is medium to full bodied with a smooth, silky texture, sweet fruit, nice acidity and a long, clean finish. While this has big, sweet fruit, it also has restraint and the acidity keeps it clean and fresh. I'd drink these over the next 10 years. 94 pts.

2007 Epoch Estate Ingenuitee $55.99

From The Rhone Review: The most structured and tannic of the releases, the 2007 Ingenuitee is an interesting blend of 46% grenache, 43% syrah and 9% petite sirah with a dash of mourvedre and zinfandel thrown in for good measure. On the nose, this has an almost funky earth slant and I thought there was more mourvedre than there actually was. Spiced meat, underbrush, leather and a little game notes are framed beautifully by serious dark fruit and licorice aromas. The palate is even better and is full bodied, perfectly balanced and stacked with a mouth coating, rich texture. The structure here is notable but the tannins are perfectly ripe and silky, making this enjoyable now. This is another winner to drink over coming decade or longer.326 cases. 94 pts.
