Hello to all
those who Imbibe ~
This Thursday (April 15th!) Sharon Crull of Terraces
Vineyards will be at Imbibe from 5 - 7 p.m. Stop on by to taste four of their very special wines for just $15. I first met Timm and Sharon Crull in Napa Valley
at a trade tasting more than ten years ago. With every release of their wines, I'm blown away by how far these wines over-deliver. Very Cool History
Terraces Vineyard was first planted more than 100 years ago when in 1881 Charles Scheggia purchased the property and
planted the Zinfandel clone that is still used today, making it one of the
oldest plantings of Zinfandel in the Napa Valley. Charlie Wagner of Caymus
purchased these grapes and considered them to be some of the finest in the Napa
Valley. In the late 1970's Charlie's friend Wayne Houge took over the property
and replanted a few acres to Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon. In the 90's the
Crull family bought the Terraces and have taken it to another level. Over
30 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Zinfandel are farmed at the
Quarry Vineyards. A large portion of the Cabernet goes into the Beringer
Private Reserve Cabernet.
Meet & Greet Sharon Crull The Terraces
 The
Terraces bottles four wines:
- 2007 Zinfandel (the staff favorite) - only 834
cases produced. Powerful rich deeply colored Zinfandel.
- 2006
Cabernet Sauvignon - A best buy in Cabernet Sauvignon. Only 398 cases produced.
Lavish amounts of rich cassis fruit with layers of black cherry.
- 2007 Petite
Sirah from the Dollar Ranch - Wonderful wine. 223 cases produced. Flavors of blue and plumy fruits, rich with earthy tannins.
- 2008
Chardonnay from the Carpy-Connelly Ranch - 627 cases produced. Great fruit with
no malo-lactlic fermentation; one of the most palate pleasing chardonnays you will
ever taste.
Come by and
say hello to Sharon, taste all four wines for only $15 and receive a $5
credit on each bottle purchased up to $15.
