Hello to all those who imbibe,
If you joined us for last week to sample the wines of
Flora Springs, you already know how good the wines showed. If not, I'm here to tell
you that Flora Springs is on a roll with the release of their 2007 Single Vineyard
Cabernets. My favorites were the Hillside Reserve and the Holy Smoke Cabernet. The Soliloquy Sauvignon Blanc was outstanding too. If you like SB, you must try this wine.
On a separate note, we hope you're signed up to join us for the Bourbon Tasting (and
dinner to follow) at the Bistro Wednesday March 31st at 6:30 pm. Only seven seats remain right now. Anyone that has attended any of our Spirits
tastings knows we over-deliver, Proprietors Drew Kulsveen and Hunter
Chavanne are flying in from Kentucky for their only California event. Lets give them
a BIG Bakersfield welcome! Seating is limited and I am VERY THANKFUL to fill the room.
This Friday we will taste some ofNapa's finest 2001
Cabernets. Check out our website at Imbibe Wine Events,
for a complete lineup of the wines we'll be pouring, along with all the other events and tasting we have
coming up in the near future.
FYI: The month of
March many wineries release their wines. Just arrived at Imbibe are the
following wines that we think you should take a serious look at:
2007 Cahoots Cabernet
by Pina 2007 Pride Merlot 2007 Herman Story Grenache 2007 Baton Chardonnay and
Pinot 2007 Roar Pinot Noir and Syrah 2007 Robert Craig Affinity 2007 Kistler
...just
to name a few of the new items rolling in every week.
Last today is the announcement of our first
Argentinean Wine Tasting & BBQ, on Saturday May 22nd from 1:00 - 4:00 pm. Limited to 125 guests; reservations are $59 each or two for $100. Each reservation will receive a $25 discount on their first case purchase of Argentinean wines that day.
Without question Argentina produces some of the most
outstanding and over-delivering wines in the world today. Modeled after our Top 100 Tasting, we
will have more than forty wines open to taste along with a BIG TIME BBQ with our
good friend Jeff Stewart on the grill. We will be serving up outstanding beef, lamb, chicken and pork with side dishes designed to compliment the wonderful Argentinean wines.
Until next time, keep imbibing,
David
