Hello to all those who imbibe,
I just got back from three wine-filled days in Napa Valley. You can enjoy the trip virtually by checking out the latest blog at www.imbibewine.com/blog. Whew, my job travel is pretty tough! It's good to get back home, rest the liver and let you know about a few good
things going on at Imbibe Wine.
You can come hungry to Imbibe because we're now featuring sandwiches, salads and desserts from Sequoia Sandwich Company. Jeff and Gary are really awesome operators, and we're excited that they're allowing us to provide their food to you at Imbibe. Stop in for a half-sandwich (really a LARGE half) and a generous portion of salad for only $7.95. Don't forget the cookie or cake. Help us cut down on staff consumption of all the goodies!
Speaking of cookies, Krista at the Brown Butter Cookie Company sent us a note yesterday to let us know that their brown butter cookies will be the featured 'snack of the day' on the Rachel Ray show this Thursday. Stop in to taste what all the hoopla is about, and check out the new cocoa version here at Imbibe.
I looked around and found some wines that I
think are truly worthy of a shout out. Notes about them follow. Then I looked some more, found lots of great wine in the store; and asked Deanna, Josh and Richard to get involved and give us all their opinions too. Their recommendations are posted on our website at www.imbibewine.com/newarrivals and in our blog.
It's good to be home, David

P.K.N.T. Chardonnay Chile Reg $8.99 Imbibe price $6.99
This wine has lots of ripe pineapple and tropical fruit
flavors with a full-bodied finish. Ideal on its own or with smoked
salmon ( and yes, we have smoked salmon in our deli box). You will be hard pressed to find
a wine this good at this price anywhere. Enjoy!

Mountain View Chardonnay California Central Coast Imbibe price $8.99
Another standout chard for your hard-earned dollar is the 2008
Mountain View which comes from highly regarded vineyards on the central
coast. Rich tropical fruit aromas and ripe varietal flavors are balanced by a
crisp acidity that is all too rare in California wine.

Snap Dragon Chardonnay California Reg 9.99 Imbibe price is
$7.91
We first brought this wine in last summer. We
poured it at the Blues Fest on the CSUB campus and it was the hit of the evening. Hints of
butterscotch and citrus notes with a bit of acidity.

Tamber Bey Deux Chevaux Cabernet Sauvignon California, Napa Valley Imbibe price is
$29.99; or $25.65/each by the case
Last and certainly the best deal is the 2006 Deau Chevaux
Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. A blend of red and black fruits with ripe silky tannins,
creating a most approachable but concentrated Cabernet. Lots of cassis and
black currant flavors. This wine is made by wine-making team of Thomas Brown
and Mike Smith - two names you know or should know. Only 1,000 cases for the
world and we brought in 56 of them. You will see this wine on the internet over
forty bucks; but why would you pay that? Imbibe's price is $29.99 and if you buy a case we will get it down
to $25.65. Wine #7 on our Top 100 List for 2010.
