Greetings!

Hi,

I just put all the temperature information into our Sweet Corn planner and it came up with the following first picking date for our last planted sweet corn....it is, oh boy, October 11.  The good news is that this is about the same date I estimate by looking hard at the patch.  The bad news is that while the weather until Thursday looks warmer than normal, the following week it looks below normal.  In other words, despite the great looks of the corn patch, it most likely won't make it.  BTW, this patch of 70 day corn was planted on July 23.  While we finished picking the first patch of corn on July 16, the ground was too hard and dry to plow until the July 20 rain.  Then for 2 days it was too wet to to plow and plant.  My wife Annemarie reminded me that we found from past experience that you must plant corn before July 16 in order to be sure it ripens. However, because of circumstance we couldn't get it in any earlier than July 23.  Oh well, Like Yogi Berra of the Yankees said, "It ain't over till it's over!"

We have just put out a new video on YouTube.  This one is unedited so there are a few rough spots.  The video is on our High Tunnel SunSugar tomatoes and was taken today.  Notice you see lots and lots of green tomatoes but few ripe ones.  The high-tunnel was picked out yesterday and today.  (The ones picked today were for our own use.)  Most of the SunSugar tomatoes we picked yesterday were sold out yesterday although we still have perhaps 5 pints left.  We won't be picking more until probably Wednesday.

We now have 4 videos on YouTube.  Our new YouTube channel is: youtube.com/magiclandfarms.  Make sure you bookmark it since we have more videos planned.

Also, I want to remind everyone that we welcome the Bridge Card (EBT card) as well as WIC Project Fresh Coupons and Senior Fresh/Market Fresh Coupons.

Nashle,

Tom
