Ground Hog Day is only 4 days away! Where has winter gone? If you read my Boss's Corner regularly, you shouldn't be surprised that the winter so far in Newaygo County has been so mild. I have to admit I went out on a limb with my winter forecast since just about every forecast -- from the National Weather Service, the US Climate Prediction Center, Accuweather, the Weather Channel, local TV weathermen, and even Joe Bastardi -- was calling for a more severe than normal winter. Some were even predicting a winter to remember and to tell your grandkids about, especially for the Chicago area! Well, what do I think is coming up in February? Earlier this month I started Tom's Page and this week I converted to WordPress and now have a blog. While my next blog post will try to answer the questions I just proposed, I will soon put out a rather different type of blog post; this one on health. I will be talking about how my lateral thinking (somewhat like thinking out of the box) has come up with a theory that may give a clue to the root cause of smoking induced cancer--and it isn't the tars and nicotine! I also propose, if my theory is correct, that it would be possible to come up with a safer cigarette.
