Magicland Farms Photo Album
We have created a photo album on Photobucket to share photos of this season at Magicland Farms.

We apologize but we don't have any new photos this week. Hopefully our photographer will be busy next week!

The Boss's Corner

Hi,

Because of the heat, everything is ripening really fast. We will start picking our fourth patch of corn on Tuesday or Wednesday and our second patch of beans towards the end of the week. Our fourth patch of corn has somewhat larger eared corn than the first patches and unlike the earlier patches, it looks like it is relatively free of corn earworms.

Right now it looks like that by the end of the week, we will be picking our early summer apples and our first peaches, which are Flamin' Fury PF1's. This week also starts our sweet onion harvest with our Newaygo Newaygo Sweet Onions being the first we pull. As you probably know, the Newaygo Newaygo sweets are the same variety of onions planted in Walla Walla Washington but they are grown by us right here in Newaygo County.

While we are picking SunSugar cherry tomatoes and our Little Red tomatoes, demand still exceeds supply so we have been selling out of tomatoes early each day.

Other crops we are harvesting this week include pickling and slicing cucumbers, beans, beets, zucchini, yellow summer squash, red potatoes, Yukon Gold potatoes and cut sunflowers.

Try and keep as cool as possible and drink plenty of water.

Nashle,

Tom

We appreciate your business and hope to see you this week at Magicland Farms.
