Mackinac Island Honor Scouts

Calling all Cadette, Senior & Ambassador Girl Scouts!  

Do you have what it takes to be a Mackinac Island Honor Scout?

 

MIHS GirlsThis amazing opportunity provides girls the chance of a lifetime! Mackinac Island Honor Scouts act as official guides at Fort Mackinac and other historic sites on Mackinac Island, conduct daily flag ceremonies at twenty-six flag stations and participate in various service projects. 

 

The Mackinac Island Honor Scout Program will inspire you to develop the courage, confidence and character to make the world a better place - starting right here in Michigan!

  

Plus...there is still time for bike riding, shopping and sight-seeing!

 

Do you have what it takes? Are you:

  • Entering 7-12 grade?
  • Experienced in Girl Scout volunteer and leadership activities?
  • Mature and responsible?
  • Courageous enough to withstand a week away from home?
  • Able to perform the MIHS duties of raising and lowering flags, standing at post for long periods, performing community service projects and  cooperating with kapers?
  • Someone whom others look to as a strong leader?
  • A high capacity Girl Scout who can adapt to a changing schedule?
  • Willing to take directions from Honor Scouts and adults in leadership positions?
  • Ready for a life changing leadership experience?

Girls must be entering 7-12 grade to apply for MIHS each fall. Troop 147 is made up of girls from Girl Scouts of Michigan Shore to Shore and Michigan residents of Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes.
