Christmas Luncheon and Angel Exchange

The Episcopal Church Women (ECW) is once again hosting a beloved

St. Cuthbert tradition, the annual luncheon and angel exchange on Sunday, December 5, immediately following the 10:30 a.m. service. All women in the church are invited. Consider bringing two angels, one to donate to a local nursing home, and one to keep. The price limit on the angel gift is $15. Lunch will be prepared and served by the ECW Board. Elections for the new ECW board will take place after lunch. Please prayerfully consider serving as an ECW officer or submit your nomination by November 30. For more information or to reserve your spot, contact Lori Lienemann at 281.795.4522 or Carolyn Dennison at 281.345.9648.

Christmas Outreach Project

As you do your Christmas shopping, keep in mind the St. Cuthbert Outreach project, collecting toys, stuffed animals and food for the Mission of Yahweh. The Mission of Yahweh is a faith-based shelter that empowers, enriches and restores the lives of homeless women and children and provides outreach services to low income families in the neighborhood.

Here's what you can do to built the kingdom of God:

Donate a new gift for a child (between $10 and $15 value), wrap it, but please don't use bows. Label the gift with an age range and gender, if appropriate.  Label dolls with their ethnicity.

Donate a new stuffed animal.  There's no need to wrap it

Provide any of the following items:

Frozen Turkey                                      Canned Green Beans

Stuffing Mix                                           Canned Corn

Instant Potatoes                                  Canned Yams or Sweet Potatoes

Canned Cranberry Sauce                 Canned Fruit Cocktail

Donate a Wal-Mart gift card. Provide a copy of the receipt to ensure the value of the card.

For more information, contact Jan Scarpati at 281.955.1279 or scarpati12@aol.com.

Your gifts and food may be placed in the box in the Narthex. Place turkeys in the freezer in the kitchen and leave a note in the box for Jan. Put Wal-Mart gift cards in the staff mail slot (located by the office door).

Lord of the Streets

On Sunday, December 19, members of St. Cuthbert are invited to cook breakfast for and provide lunch bags to the Lord of the Streets community. We will leave the church at 5:30 a.m. The mission of Lord of the Streets is to minister to the spiritual, emotional, physical and social needs of individuals who are homeless, in crisis or in transition. Donations of the following to be used in the lunch bags are needed: cheese and crackers, fruit, Vienna sausages, juice boxes and chips. Monetary donations are always appreciated. All items should be dropped off at the church no later than Wednesday, December 15. For more information, please contact Joan Everson at 281.859.4147 or Betty Reid at 281.440.7402. As a special Christmas treat, we need to collect 300 pairs of socks to keep the feet of the homeless warm this winter season. There is a box labeled "Lord of The Streets" in the Parish Hall for sock donations. For more information, please contact Jerielle Lambert at 281.829.9766.
