Our economic future, theme of TEAM PG annual meeting
Charlotte County at a "crossroads" according to TEAM keynote speaker

Speaking to some 200 people in attendance at the TEAM PG Annual Meeting, keynote speaker John Rhodes challenged us to think of ourselves as more than a "retirement community."  Although very impressed with the work our community has done in the wake of Hurricane Charley, Rhodes, who recently completed an economic study of Charlotte County, suggested we need to focus on attracting all age groups to assure our economic future. To see Rhode's presentation, click on presentation.

Other highlights of the evening included a presentation by CEO Nancy Prafke outlining TEAM's 2011 accomplishments.  TEAM's first Beautification Award was given to Antar's Food Mart in Punta Gorda while the Design Award was given to Charlotte High School.

Jimmy Dean of Harbor Style magazine hosted the event which was held at the PGI Civic Association on December 16.

Congrats to Charlotte High School!

TEAM Leadership Transitions
TEAM Logo

TEAM Board President Tom Kerr has announced the appointment of Nancy Johnson, Jason Green and Paul Versnik to the TEAM Punta Gorda board of directors.  They bring a broad set of talents as well as energy and vitality to the TEAM board.

It is with regret that we accept the resignations of Graciela Nurse and Ryan Rupert, both of whom have served the TEAM Board well and with distinction.  In addition to   performing her board duties, Grace was active on both the Spokes and Trails and Community Gardens Committees.  As Fundraising Chair, Ryan was instrumental in creating the "Continue the Journey" campaign to support TEAM's efforts.

We thank them both and wish them well.

We have good news and bad news...
THE GOOD NEWS: The IFDS World Disabled Sailing Championships will be held in Charlotte Harbor January 7 -15!

THE BAD NEWS:  TEAM's acclaimed bicycle loaner program lacks a hand-pedaled bicycle and they cost around $4,000.
To accommodate disabled visitors to our community, TEAM is seeking donations for hand-pedaled bicycle to add to the bicycle loaner fleet.  Contact the TEAM Office at 941-637-8326 to learn more.  Thanks!
