Economic Development. . .
. . . is the HOT Topic!
Money tree Mark your calendars for Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at 7 p.m. when TEAM Punta Gorda will highlight economic development at its always popular annual meeting.

This year's keynote speaker is none other than John Rhodes, consultant to the Enterprise Charlotte Economic Council.

"It is of vital importance that we continue our focus on creating economic opportunity in greater Punta Gorda," said TPG CEO Nancy Prafke.

The meeting will be held at the Punta Gorda Isles Civic Association, 2001 Shreve Street.  For more information call 941-637-8326 or visit the website at www.teampuntagorda.org

Please bring non-perishable food items for the Good Samaritans of Charlotte County food pantry.  They really appreciate our help.

We hope to see you there!
DETOUR AHEAD!
North Jones Loop Closing

Generic roadIt has come to our attention that North Jones Loop between US 41 and Taylor Road will be closed for approximately eight weeks while a new railroad crossing is constructed. The effective start is October 18.

By now you have seen all the clearing going on, so this comes as no surprise.  Plan ahead when your travel calls for traversing the above location.

Traffic will be detoured between US 41 and North Jones Loop via Acline Road.

The good news is that there is already a waiting list for the Community Garden.

Even better news is the award of a $4,000 grant received by TEAM Punta Gorda from the Charlotte Community Foundation.

These funds are allocated to build a handicap accessible garden bed.

Anyone wishing to get on the garden's waiting list can call South County Regional Park at 505-8686.

Congratulations to Heleen Schouten and her team for a job well done!
