Linear Park Phase I Opens
Well, the bricks aren't really yellow, but you'll get the idea when you take your walk, bicycle ride, jog or rollerblade along the waterfront near Fishermen's Village. The ribbon cutting made it official that it's now open for business. Be sure to look at the new Wayfinding Signs pointing you in all the right directions. This is just Phase I of the circle that will surround our pedestrian-friendly city.

Beautification Team Does it Again

Time to go sit in the shade of the old oak tree, listen to the splashing of the fountain, and enjoy a quiet interlude. The Park at Herald Court behind the former Turtle Club is ready for you!
Thanks to our crack team of volunteers, the shrubs are planted, the palm trees have been replaced, and more than three cubic yards of Firelight rock has been installed. The volunteers were so motivated, they spruced up the alleyway between Cafe Ruelle and Sea Grape Gallery.
Thanks to Suzanne and Don McCormick, John Prafke, Bobbie Crane, Heleen Schouten, Shelly Harris, Donna Worthly, Peggy Jensen, Tom Cavanaugh, and Gini Pender for their dedication in seeing this project through.

Mary Mazur
Born in Vermont, Mary Mazur worked as a medical technologist for 15 years and a property manager for 17. She loves to volunteer and ran a plant therapy program and supervised 20 hospital volunteers. She and her husband, TEAM volunteer Frank Mazur, moved to Punta Gorda in 2005.
She joined TEAM Punta Gorda in 2007 because she likes working with people, and TPG gave her that opportunity.
A fun fact about Mary: she was president of the VT Automobile Enthusiasts, an antique car club which hosts the famous Stowe, VT Antique & Classic Car Meet. Her own 1965 Mustang convertible was driven by Jim Carrey in the movie, "Me, Myself and Irene." |
