TEAM Wishes Everyone A Happy Holiday Season

As the holiday season begins, we are all thankful for the marvelous city we live in, and TEAM's Board of Directors, Operating Committee, and Advisory Council wish everyone a joyful holiday celebrated with family and friends.
TEAMs Interactions with the City and County

The joint Punta Gorda City Council and Board of County Commissioners meeting will be held on Friday, December 11 at 9 a.m. at the County Chambers in Murdock. First on the agenda will be a discussion on the South County Gateway Project. TEAM undertook the joint project, which will enhance the entrances to South County. The Punta Gorda City Council and Board of County Commissioners will be looking for direction in order to continue to provide county resources for this valuable project. Everyone is encouraged to attend this important meeting.
-----
TEAM has established a committee, headed by Larry Okray, to work with the City to support the development of community gardens in Punta Gorda. Interested gardeners can contact TEAM to become involved in the organizing stages.
-----
TEAM is working with the City on a Bicycle Loaner Program and will help in soliciting for donors to purchase bicycles and related safety equipment. Businesses in the area would become sponsors who would loan the bicycles to visitors to use while touring around Punta Gorda.
-----
The TEAM Artisans' Village Committee has presented a concept to the City Council to provide affordable space for working artisans which will attract visitors to the downtown area.

TEAM Volunteer Orientation

You are invited to attend a very informative TEAM Volunteer Orientation meeting on Saturday, January 16 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Laishley Marina Community Room. Members from various TEAM committees will be present to talk about what they do in the community. If you are new to TEAM and want to learn more about volunteering opportunities, please join us.

Please contact Mary Mazur, memazur@comcast.net, for more information.

Did you know...

...that Jill McCrory, who is an ex-officio member on TEAM's Board of Directors, will be opening a new office at 150 Laishley Court?

...that Main Street Punta Gorda district businesses are displaying beautiful wreaths for a silent auction bidding to be held at the "Meet Me at the Freeman House" on December 17 during Gallery Walk?

...that Charlotte County is developing a History Collections database which will feature thousands of digital objects created from the holdings of the Charlotte County Historical Center and the Charlotte County Library System in Florida? Check out their website, www.ccflhistory.contentdm.oclc.org, and click on browse to find a wealth of data.

...that the Charlotte Harbor Regatta, being held February 4 to 7, will bring hundreds of sailors to Punta Gorda? This is a first for our area and lots of volunteers will be needed. If interested, contact Brian Gleason, of The Charlotte Sun, at bglesun@gmail.com.

...that Punta Gorda has a new logo that is being used by several local organizations, including TEAM? Whats Happening Logo Those of us who live here always knew it was 'happening on the harbor!'

...that charettes are being planned for sometime during January, as a part of the South County Gateway Project (as mentioned above), where residents could discuss improving the landscaping, signage and architectural design for gateways into the county?
