Pan Gu Shengong is a simple yet powerful Qigong exercise that strengthens the immune system, centers the

Pan Gu
Shengong is extremely easy to learn and practice. It requires no

day. The form consists of a series of simple movements, breath patterns,
and visualizations.
Qigong
is a unique system of energy cultivation based in the principles of
Chinese medicine and philosophy. Pan Gu Shengong, developed by Master
Ou Wen Wei, is specially designed to efficiently absorb the essential
vital energy or "qi" (pronounced "chee") from the universe and
distribute it effectively where your body most needs it.
My Story
I first learned Pan Gu Shengong in 2007 after I had been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. I had decided to take a natural, holistic approach to managing and healing from this condition, rather than taking a lifetime of medication with potentially serious side effects. Pan Gu Shengong has been an amazing tool in my recovery. My daily practice has helped me successfully manage my symptoms without medication, and to keep my mind, emotions and spirit grounded in the face of big health and related life challenges.
When I first began practicing Pan Gu Shengong, I had persistent, roving pain in both hands and wrists that made many of my regular activities (including my therapeutic massage practice) very difficult. After leading a very healthy, active life, this was an extremely frightening and disturbing change. I have to admit that I was initially skeptical about whether Qigong could help me, and put off by the idea of committing to a daily practice. However, in the very first class, I could immediately feel the energy starting to shift and move in my hands and arms, so I decided to try it.
In my first weeks and months of practicing, I experienced many new, sometimes strange sensations in my hands and wrists, but after each session I could tell things were shifting, so I continued. My joint pain started to become more manageable and at times, went away completely. I was able to do my daily activities and get back to doing my bodywork practice. At the same time, Pan Gu Shengong helped me to quiet my mind and handle the stress of dealing with a serious and chronic health condition. It continues to be a powerful resource for my ongoing health and wellness.
