 What a great year Mosaics by Michele (MXM) is having already... I hope you are experiencing the same!
As you already know, January was a lot of fun with the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition project. You'll find more information below about that and the upcoming show.

| Extreme Makeover: Home Edition |
 Well, I just found out a couple of days ago that "our" show will air on Easter Sunday, April 4th and will be a two hour special! The show is on ABC and starts at 7pm CST... so tune in!
For those who are just "tuning in"... back in January EM:HE came to Kemah, Texas (5 minutes from my home) to build a 6300 sf home for the deserving Beach family. I was part of a team of mosaic artists who were privileged to create a beautiful mosaic headboard for their 18 year old daughter's bedroom.
While we were installing the headboard they did take some footage of the designer, Michael Moloney pretending to grout the headboard. We were there alongside him as he thanks us for "assisting" him with the project. Ugh... after being awake for 30 hours straight!! That's show biz!
A couple of weeks ago we were honored to meet Melissa and Larry Beach who have fostered more than 85 children, have four children of their own and nine adopted children. They are truly amazing people!

| First Saturday Arts Market |
 This past weekend my friend, Rachel Stokes of Leap of Faith Glass, and I participated for the first time in First Saturday Arts Market in the historic Heights area of Houston. What a great time we had and we met some of the nicest people!
There's something there for everyone... jewelry, paintings, purses, wooden ball point pens, crystals, food, music and more! Plus there's a lot of great shops to check out on 19th street while you're there! And if you're into people watching... oh, my goodness! I hope you will come out to see us next month... Saturday, April 3rd. |

 This image is small and difficult to see, but if you click on it you'll get a larger version. This is my most recent project and is called Broken. It is a mosaic cross made out of all white spiritual and religious statues such as Christ, the Virgin Mary, baby Jesus, doves, harps, etc.
At the foot of the cross are the remaining broken shards of glass, representing our brokeness as we place it at the foot of the cross. | |
