Artist Dean Ruck' s The Big Bubble celebrates the history of the bayou, and the role it continues to play in the life of the city. Next time you're in downtown Houston, head over to the Preston Street Bridge, look for a red button on the southeast corner of the bridge, press it and check out what happens. (The name The Big Bubble should tell you something.)  Also, it's fun to do as someone is walking over the bridge.
 
Just a few blocks down Preston is Market Square Park (at Preston and Milam).  There you will find these beautiful hand painted tile mosaic benches by Malou Flato.  Each pair forms a 28' tile arc and are placed on the park's perimeter, with seating facing both the street and the park interior.  Flato's vivid, impressionistic scenes of the market place reference the original market held on the grounds of City Hall and create permanent gardens of color in the park.
