| OCI Healing Research Foundation - New President
New President Dr Bill Daly
The OCI Healing Research Foundation, a non-profit, dedicated to the promotion of research and education to the world about Tong Ren, now has a new president, Dr Bill Daly. We are proud to have his leadership, decisiveness and vast experience in taking this position.
One of his first initiatives was, being a doctor himself, to work to bridge the gap between Tong Ren and the general medical community. In order to accomplish this, he has a letter from himself as a medical practitioner, for other doctors to read when patients are using Tong Ren as a complimentary method of healing. A copy of that letter is available at this link:
To learn more about the new president, here is his personal background to introduce himself to the entire community.
Dr. Bill Daly has been practicing Internal Medicine for the last 3 decades. Most of that has been in a solo private practice, because his first priority is to listen to all the concerns of each patient, and provide the quality of care that he would want for himself or his family. He briefly joined two different medical groups, but returned to private practice when he found the groups refused to allow enough time with each patient, compromising the quality of the patient's care. American healthcare is now controlled by insurance companies, and over the last decade they have made it impossible for a primary care physician (PCP) to give patients the time and attention they deserve, while generating enough income to simply pay the office overhead. Two years ago Dr. Daly switched to a new practice model which allows the PCP to spend the time patients deserve -- a membership practice, in which the doctor works directly for the patient, rather than the insurance company. Dr. Daly is now working towards a new national healthcare plan proposal, to ensure each patient gets the care they deserve, and improve the relationships between patients and physicians. Dr. Daly enjoys teaching, and has been on the clinical faculty of Tufts University School of Medicine for the last 18 years. He has chaired several hospital committees, two of which were new ventures to improve the quality of medical care for large groups of people. He has enjoyed public speaking, was a radio personality for 2 years, was a spokesperson for the Beyond War peace movement in the 1980s, and subsequently hosted more than 2 dozen hospital-wide and church-wide comedy productions. Dr. Daly has raised 3 wonderful daughters. He enjoys rock climbing, surfing, ocean sailing, skiing, rollerblading, soccer and photography with his family. |
