WILDEBEEST MIGRATION - TANZANIA & KENYA
The Migration is a movement of 1.5 million wildebeest throughout the Serengeti and Masai Mara ecosystems on the Kenya-Tanzania border. 400,000 zebra and 350,000 Thomson's Gazelles and 12,000 Eland accompany them along the way, making a total of over 2 million migrating animals. As early as the 1st July the very first crossings of the Mara River begin, often with no distinct movement as the herds tend to cross back and forth over the river, following the flush of fresh grass, until early November when they head into the Serengeti in Tanzania.
