'We are woken early and zip open the tent. Wild sage assaults our senses.  Its our first walking safari and we are eager to step out into the African wilderness in South Luangwa.  The birds sing from the trees and it's not long before we find a whirl of animal activity centered around the oxbow lagoons and open sandbanks of the river. We can hardly contain our excitement as we spy a pod of more than fifty hippos, a family of elephants and lots of crafty crocodiles.  Our guide welcomes our adventurous disposition.  He is amused and assures us there's much more to come.  He is right.  It's a real treat to spot our first lion.  We love how isolated we are and surprisingly how addicted we are to nature. After another game drive and a cold  sundowner we head back to camp and star gaze whilst sipping Amarula.  No words can quite express how incredible the African sky really is.  Best we just sit at the fire wide-eyed and in awe.'
